Suzhou Science & Technology Town (SSTT) locates in the west of SND and adjacent to Lake Tai. SSTT covers 25km2 with three major functional zones, which are industrial zone, comprehensive zone and R&D zone. SSTT is the new development area of SND which covers new administrative area of SND as well as scientific innovation function. With great natural environment and full urban-functions, SSTT becomes the place to conglomerate advanced manufacturing companies and talents in innovation business.
SSTT is the major industrial base for medical device industry in Suzhou city as well as Jiangsu province. It gathers multiple service platforms for this industry, namely, Jiangsu Biomedical Engineering Park(Medpark), Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology of China Academy of Science(SIBET), Jiangsu Medical Instrument Testing Center Suzhou Branch(JSMIT), State Intellectual Property Office Jiangsu Center(SIPO). Nowadays, more and more platforms and companies which focused on R&D, manufacturing, distribution and sales business in medical device industry are gathering in SSTT.
Jiangsu Medpark locates in Suzhou Science&Technology Town next to Suzhou Ring Expressway. Medpark have won honors like National level scientific incubator, National Torch plan industrial base, first patch of national innovative industrial cluster, National “Ten-Hundred-Thouand-Ten thousand” sample products industrial base, etc…
With total planning area of 2 sqkm, Medpark includes areas like R&D innovative zone and in the south, comprehensive industrial zone in the north. Currently, the Southern R&D innovative zone includes facility of 260,000sqm, it has incorporated over 80 medical companies, including famous companies like Kavo Kerr Group, Yuwell Group, Welch allyn, BioSino, Medica,etc. Some companies have started to sell their hi-end innovative products. Phase I of Northern comprehensive industrial zone including 40,000sqm facility has been delivered.
Medpark has set up multiple public service platforms to support the industry and provide relevant services. It includes R&D service platforms like SIBET which cooperated with CAS, Suzhou industrial research institute of Zhejiang university; Jiangsu Medical Instrument Testing institute Suzhou branch(JSMIT) as medical device testing platform; medical device public service platform as consulting and authentication platform. Medpark also set up medical device industrial development fund(RMB100million) and venture fund(RMB300million) to support innovative medical projects.
